Hey, I've been playing for a while and for the past week everytime I try to install the game it gives me the error "Failed to download file", I followed the guide and turned off firewall and deleted the download carpet but it still happens. I've reinstalled it about 20 times with no luck even changing from disk A to disk C.

Any help?

Have you tried to turn off also your Antivirus?, which one are you using? You should add the P4 folder as exception to your antivirus (if you have MCafee, Avast - deinstall them and get a better one).

Be sure that you start the launcher wit administrator privileges in any case.

1. Launch the game as administrator ( right click on the icon )
2. Try to restart your router
3. Try to set the Google DNS: https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/

I've turned off my antivirus too, I've restarted the router and have the Google DNS and same thing happens. Now it lets me connect once I download it but if I close the game I have to reinstall.

Do not reinstall the game, it's useless otherwise you have to download the patches every time.
Add an exception in Windows Defender to the game folder.

If the problem persists install privatetunnel.com, make a free account and try to launch the game with this VPN enabled. Does it work?

Hi im new to the game just downloaded and tried to launch the game but got this error "Failed to download file error". I tried every thing here mentioned but nothing worked , i finaly found the problem that is If game.p4story.com or is your ip then its geting blocked and only using vpn it is possible to connect .

It is due http instead https.
You can create an exception or use the google dns.

google dns failed but OpenDNS works thanks .
